Yup. The obsession with her, either direction, is absurd. She's a singer. She makes music. Whether you like it or not is a matter of personal taste. But she's not an angel and she's also not a demon. She's a person.

Eh, you’re kinda overlooking the harm she does due to her lifestyle and business decisions. She’s amongst the worst offenders for environmental harm both through personal travel and marketing campaigns. The marketing campaigns also have devastating social consequences, fueling capitalism at an accelerated pace in the midst of a recession. She’s not a demon but she is a shining example of what daddy’s money can buy and the consequences that will hurt generations to come.

Uh, she's definitely a wealthy celebrity with all that entails. But to call her one of the worst offenders seems like a massive exaggeration. There are plenty of worse offenders who don't get nearly the obsessive focus she does.

There are flight logs that disprove your opinion about the environmental harm she causes. She’s actually the worst single person offender. And if you go anywhere online you will see plenty of people who boycott Walmart, Amazon, Tesla, and many others.

Uh, no. Flights, even private ones, are not anywhere near as bad for the environment as factories, deforestation, and a whole host of other things.

And she uses many factories and engages in business activities that drive deforestation. To say nothing of cheap overseas labor and the transportation of goods.

As do hundreds of other celebrities. No one is saying she isn't bad for the environment. We're saying that so are many other people, she isn't unique in that regard. Claiming she's on the level of Musk, Amazon, or any of the other companies who are actually the ones destroying the environment is absolutely absurd.

So does literally every other business ever?

Which is bad, but the way you people go after Tswift specifically and only as if she is the sole reason any of this happens, when the reason it happens is capitalism, and to exist in capitalism is to unfortunately encourage it by the nature of how it works.

I hope you don't own anything at all because there is nothing you own that wasn't made by those that were exploited overseas.

Individual travel, even with a private jet, being the reason for climate change is a myth to pin the blame on everyone BUT the big industries who are actually to blame. How many variants did she put out of her latest album? How diverse is her official merch catalog? All of that fuels capitalism and environmental destruction.

exactly. i mean sure her merch undoubtedly comes out of the same factories as the temu shit does, and a dozen vinyl variants is definitely sad for the environment, but the scale of what she releases in comparison to temu, amazon, shein, walmart, target, etc is just not even close.

I don't disagree with this, but I feel like there are bigger and more significant battles to fight than Taylor Swift's 8,000 pieces of shitty merch and vinyl variants.

This right here. Yes, planes do contribute, but to say it is worse than industries, deforestation, and other things that have a far greater impact is just absurd.

How are they her closest peers? She doesn't support them. Yes, she's a wealthy celebrity. But she actually gets more hate than people like Musk and Bezos who do far, far worse to the environment and the world than she does.

“Wealthy” is a fucking joke. She has never been wealthy; she was born extremely wealthy and is now one of the richest people in the world. And she gets the same level hate as all the other assclowns who are quite literally destroying the world.

You are seriously out of touch or severely misinformed if you think Taylor Swift's global impact is anywhere near the impact of Amazon. That's insane levels of delusion.

None of you weirdos do this to Rihanna tho, who hit the billionaire mark in the 2010's. Nope, just this particular successful woman whom you don't like and gun for.

This is definitely something you notice, Rihanna has been a billionaire for way longer, but I literally never see her being called out for it.

Her family was upper middle class, and as of today she is not even among the 400 wealthiest people in America, let alone the world. In fact, the 400th wealthiest person in American is worth an estimated $3.8 billion, which is nearly double Taylor's current estimated net worth. Based on this, in all likelihood she doesn't even break the top 1000 wealthiest people in America.

If you're trying to make Taylor's anti-fans look profoundly uncredible, unreasonable, and biased, you're doing a great jobs, keep it up.
