I work in a library and I love it.

But it's still so weird seeing Cassandra Claire on the shelves.

My coworkers didn't grow up with fandom and have no idea, and I would sound insane if I'd try to explain the drama I witnessed back in the day.

And I find it weird that people are still so obsessed with hating her. That was more than a decade ago at this point, and she didn't plagiarize in her actual published writing. It is just so weird to me that people can't let go of something that happened in fandom so long ago.

I am so thankful I have that one friend that went through fandom with me and we were both in it during the original CC drama. I would definitely sound insane if I tried to explain it to anyone else!

Blessed older library colleagues do not know what fanfic is but I keep getting fandom war flashbacks in the YA section.

I super hate I have to put disclaimers about everything being problematic when I want to discuss older fandom stuff all the time, just to avoid some internet warrior jumping on me. Can we not just take it as read that everything is problematic in some way, especially the older stuff, and not self-flagellate over it. I'm gonna go watch Gunga Din, and fuck y'all because it is a fun movie.

I liked the SW sequels in general. Yes, there was too much copying of the OT, but there was still some uniqueness and some of the characters, like Rey, really shone. But I cannot stand Poe. A poor attempt at copying the success of Han, but he lacks almost all of Han's charm and ability to instantly judge a situation. Even aside from his plot in TLJ, which should have gotten him court-martialed. Poe just wasn't a well written character at all.

One of the things I love about Lord of the Rings is that there isn't any one main hero. Frodo is a hero, Sam is a hero, Aragorn is a hero, Faramir is a hero, Eowyn is a hero, everyone gets to be a hero. Everyone plays their part and is vital to Sauron's defeat.

Wha-aa? The later seasons had Rhade, aka the sexiest man alive, played by Steve Bacic. Te plot was good too, no worse than the first seasons. The only thing I disliked is the hot pink suit on the blonde girl. I forgot her name as it is such an old fandom to me. It used to have a nice fic archieve too, idk if it's still up.
