Re: Weight Loss Injections

That’s really encouraging to hear! I hope your insurance covers it for you soon. More are doing it now because it makes good business sense from their perspective, which is why I’m now finally able to start. The only issue I have is that there aren’t any nutritionists in my area that are in my insurance network and my PCP wanted me to see a nutritionist first. Hopefully I can convince her to go ahead with the injections regardless. My weight gain was a combination of injury, health problems, and then grief and depression. All of that is cleared now and I’ve changed my diet and made weight loss progress on my own but I have nearly 100 pounds to lose and I’m almost 50, so it’s doubtful I can succeed without Ozempic or Wegovy.

I was told my insurance only covers it for diabetes, which I don't have. I have other health issues that weight loss would help, but they don't care. They only cover it for diabetes.

Almost 50 here, too, and I can't believe how much my metabolism has slowed. Currently at 13 months without a period, so legit menopausal.

I still can't believe no one in the medical industrial complex prepared me for perimenopause. That was literally like going through a second puberty in reverse. It was a horror show. Childless cis female millennials, batten down the hatches because you're about to think you're going crazy in a whole new way.
