Do you have to share details? "For personal/life reasons I need to take a break" is enough info for me when my fandom friends go on hiatus. Maybe you could say "this fandom is negatively affecting my mental health" or something.

If you want to actually talk about it for support, reaching out to a fandom friend and explaining what you've said in this secret is just fine IMO, you don't sound odd, stuff like that happens. Some fandoms I've taken long breaks from myself because some personal reason made it not a good space for me for a while.
