This makes me think of Mice Tea, where the cis guy gets more personality in the route where he crossdresses for a job. If you go for his route instead, there’s too much focus on making him nonthreatening, because this audience is terrified that men are gonna hurt them.

Then again, you said this Cafe game is fine with het, so I guess that’s a slightly different issue. (I don’t remember MT having or saying anything about gay men.)

IIRC there's like 5 or 6 different f/f ships or romance storylines, the fMC is in a canon f/f ship after dabbling in various m/f and f/f ships, there's one long term m/f ship where the MC once hooked up with the girl in it, and the only m/m ship of minor plot note is a bi guy who regrets being tricked into a ship by a male antagonist

I doubt they mean for it to have unfortunate implications but that's why the implications are unfortunate
