I am so confused

What is a ficto?

And where are you hanging out where people make fun of people for having crushes on characters? That is what fandom is built on! I think it wouod be weirder for someone to go through life and *not* have a crush on some fictional character.

I'm sorry you've had this experience OP.

They might mean "fictosexual", which is a bit stronger than just having a crush on or attraction to a fictional character, but actually experiencing sexual and/or romantic desire. Sometimes this results in self-shipping and an experience of having a relationship with the character as though they were another physical person. If they don't actually experience attraction to physical people as well, they might consider themselves asexual in that regard.
