I'm nervous about the increasing speed with which entertainers go from "endearingly familiar" to "grating" for me now.

I used to be able to enjoy someone (a Youtuber, a podcaster, a TV host) for months or years without getting sick of them. But now it takes only a few weeks for me to find them irritating in some way.

Is this a depression thing? (I thought | was doing better.) Is this getting old and crotchety? (I'm only mid-30s.) Am I just less patient with people?

I wish I could find a streaming service with the movie "The Student Prince" on it. You know the one with Mario Lanza's voice dubbed over the lead actor's voice. I have my reasons, okay.

I never fully understood Noel Fielding when he referred to himself as "goth". I'm American, so I figured it just ha a slightly different meaning in the UK? But to me, he's clearly glam, like Marc Bolan.

Now here he's (what I think of as) goth to an extreme for comedy purposes, but that's a character, not Noel himself.

I've been pondering this since his Mighty Boosh days.

My favorite ships are ones where the canon characters bicker a lot, and my favorite fic is where they find each other truly infuriating at the start but learn to see and respect each other's strengths and value as people over time. Even if they remain infuriating sometimes.

But 'somehow, for absolutely no reason and against their best judgment, they instantly found the other character ~unbearably attractive~ and the entire 30 chapter ship is held up solely by the strength of somebody's 10/10 tits/abs/ass' fic is absolutely not what I'm looking for.

I hate that when I look up ship fic, it's a complete coin toss which version it will be.

I know we all like to think we're a little superhero in the making, that there is a hero inside us all, powering through adversity, but I think I'm more like 80s Skeletor. I'm not powering through anything, as soon as I can see I'm beat I'm all "Until next time He-Man" and outta there.

I only watch people cooking or eating food online if it's stuff that I'm actually not very interested in eating myself. I like learning things or hearing how they taste or just seeing someone show off their skills, but I avoid anything that's going to set off a food craving. Thankfully, I don't have much of a sweet tooth despite how much like baking, but anything with pasta or pizza is right out. I do end up watching a lot of content about fast food that mildly disgusts me.

Man, same. I particularly hate when Character A meets Character B for the first time in a fraught situation (natural disaster, shot and bleeding out, kidnapped, whatever) and the VERY FIRST THOUGHT is 'omg, so hot!!' like...really? REALLY?

I'm trying to think of tags that would differentiate these but I can't. Both fall under the slap slap kiss type trope and "slow burn" can happen over completely random physical attraction so that doesn't work

Fic summaries might work... but fics that go on to focus on character could start with Meeting An Attractive Stranger as the described premise before the story goes right to being annoyed by them and you don't know whether the Annoyance or the Attractive will be the focus
