I've never liked HP in the first place and think JKR is a ghoul but these sort of "well duh it was obvious she was always a bad person because she wrote a shocking death for a character/animal/whatever in her fictional books" takes almost make me want to defend her.

I did kind of raise an eyebrow at the... well, not fat-shaming in the usual way, but you notice she had a lot of fat people who were jerks at best and Umbridge at worst?

But that didn't prepare me for the freefall she's gone into since.

The fat shaming has always made me uncomfortable but when I was really into the books I overlooked it. I reasoned there are fat characters who were on the good side.
But as I got older, it slowly became obvious she emphasizes fatness in ways that uphold anti-fat biases.
At the same time though, that wasn't what made me stop liking her as an author. It was a mix of things. It started more as her works didn't interest me as much anymore doubled with the retreat back to HP territory when she'd been clear in saying Deathly Hallows would be the last HP novel she'd write.
Technically, true, but I got tired of her grasping to remain relevant with her tweets making random announcements about the HP canon, writing scripts for films in that canon, the sequel play based upon an outline she wrote...like, she knew couldn't keep being revered if the topic wasn't HP related and she clung onto it the second she realized that.
And the transphobia (and now anti-Ace rants) really sped up her fall from grace.
