More switching up roles, more female characters in stereotypical male roles/tropes and vice versa.

More scifi where Earth is just one small part of the universe, not either the savior or the devil, just one small planet in a vast universe. Same with humans in fantasy: not the saviors of the world, not the destroyers of the world, just one of the many species that live and work together.

More M/M and F/F romances is scifi and fantasy.

More main female characters who don't fit the stereotypes of female characters. And same with more men who don't fit male stereotypes. And more characters who mix it up, play with both.

I would love to see more arcs of heroes turning into villains. We do get some redemption arcs, but I'd love to see it reversed more: a character who starts out with the best intentions, is a real hero, but by the end they are the villain.
