Different anon here, but I agree too. I feel like I get:

a) No response
b) Someone twisting what I said/stretching to fill in gaps and interpreting it in the worst way possible so they can attack
c) Condescending, rude response

And then it's like, why even bother commenting or making secrets at all?

Yeah, I see all three of those too. I try to keep from sticking my nose in where it's not wanted or coming to the defense of someone who doesn't need it, but maybe there is a good reason to be more active in calling out that kind of unpleasantness when it happens.

Yep. I've considered breathing life in this comm by talking about my fandom because it's not discussed here, but what's the point? I'll have people put words in my mouth. Case being hands-off and not IP banning recurring trolls may be the problem.

Yeah. I totally get it. Some of the comments here are really the embodiment of the tweet about someone simply saying that they like pancakes and then getting mobbed and attacked because why do you hate waffles you bigot.

Case not bothering to check IPs and just straight up deleting comments as they wish is the problem. They just do whatever they like with this place, no rules whatsoever. A time to ban was when some trolls pestered named accounts around 2 years ago and that time passed, along with the named accounts. Now Case just deletes comments regardless of them violating the rules or not. It's a bit hard to notice as there's no "deleted" line left when they delete the whole thread so you have to be there to catch it.
So it's inconsistentsy that's the problem. Case is very hands on.
Idk why I'm even writing in the old thread.

Are you the anon with a weird grudge towards Case? I have issues with FS, but if you hate it that much, go elsewhere. Tumblr and Twitter have anonymous fandom confession blogs for secrets.
Compared to other mostly-anon comms, FS is more free. Mods will swoop in for using a certain typing style at another I used, god.
