I think Draco had opportunities to make deeper connections to other Slytherins, but given how he chose to have people dumber than him as his "friends"/body guards wouldn't that be his own fault?

Even though I shipped Harry/Draco, I never really understood Draco defenders who want us all to feel bad for Draco. IDK why he is so deserving of more grace than what he got in canon (which IMO is kinder than what he deserved).
