I'd never shame someone else for enjoying reader-insert fanfic, but I thought it was something I put behind me after my teens. (I was an adult now and more maturely got off to characters fucking each other instead. LOL!) Now, in my late 30s, I am happily diving back in. So much reader-insert PWP! I hope at least part of this is feeling better about myself and my body.

tl;dr Reddit accidentally banned my fandom-heavy Reddit account, and when they unbanned it, all of my content was gone.

My Reddit account is over 5 years old. I am generally not a troublemaker, and I do not break rules. I have never been banned from a subreddit, and I think I have only ever had one comment removed, and it was on a sub that has notoriously strict mods. I do not brigade or use a second account to vote on comments or posts. I do not post abuse towards other people, I don't even post about controversial topics that tend to attract trolls/bots/angry replies.

Awhile back, I noticed that NONE of my comments were receiving any votes or replies. I thought that was a little odd, so I opened my profile in an incognito window, and sure enough. My account was suspended or banned or whatever it is they do.

I genuinely had no idea why, so I googled and found out that you can appeal. I did so, and in less than 12 hours, I received a message that my account had erroneously been caught up in spam filters, and so they reinstated it.

However, they did not restore any of my posts or comments. 5+ years of content, heavy in fandom subs, totally gone. It honestly really messed with me. I can't believe all that effort I put into all that content has just vanished. It's genuinely sickening. Some of it was stuff that other people enjoyed or found useful, and it's just been wiped out.

The only silver lining here is that I have been shown how fleeting all this shit is, and how ultimately I have little to no control over it, because it can all be gone in the blink of an eye, for no reason. So I'm spending less time there, because why bother if it can all vanish when I didn't even do anything wrong?

I know this is about the Taylor Swift anons and I agree. You may not be able to avoid hearing about stuff like her marriage, but judging from the nature of your secrets, y'all are out there listening to her entire albums so you can hate every song individually and decide exactly what awful part of her psyche it exposes. I guess people don't want to admit they're haters because then their opinions will be dismissed as haters gonna hate, even if they're obviously haters to everyone else.

It's pretty annoying when they claim they're not trying to be mad but somehow stumble across stuff about their target of hatred all day every day when people who genuinely don't care, forgot the thing existed.

This secret doesn't mention Taylor Swift but probably some Swift hater is going to make it about her when it isn't.

There’s a reason why extreme haters and stans are basically the same when you break it down: both groups are utterly obsessed with a public figure it’s just that the haters focus it negatively yet somehow are under some bizarre impression that it’s not insanely pathetic behaviour to care about some famous stranger who will never, ever be affected by their one sided beef.

I don’t get either end of it personally and avoid both groups.
