Um, probably because it's really super easy to translate things into Latin, and it's completely impossible to write "fangirl Enochian". Enochian doesn't WORK like human languages do, even if you fully believe that a human being (John Dee) made it up. I'm pretty sure that the writers are Just Faking Enochian and frankly it would scare the crap out of me if they weren't.

This secret made me smile. *g* I'm not sure if there's any indication that Castiel knows Latin. I imagine he knows Greek because he talks about Luke as if he had met the man and I'm pretty sure the Gospels were first written in Greek, but Latin? Maybe, but why would he use it?

Besides, isn't it canon that the demons use Latin? Alistair and Meg, at least, I'm pretty sure have used incantations in it. Ruby too, come to think of it. I always figured that was because humans used Latin to work Western based magic and demons were all once human, so...
