It's like I have anti-shipping goggled welded on. I simply don't see romance unless it's very explicit or done just right. I default to assuming non-romantic explanations for a lot of character moments. I still sometimes get surprised when the main characters kiss because I thought they were gazing off thoughtfully, not looking at the other one longingly.
