I ship a lot of things, but I'm very picky about what it takes to get me to like a canon romance and a lot of times I can tell it's what the writers are angling for on a show, I just hate it. The romance in one movie did blindside me, but not because it wasn't good-- I actually really liked them, I just didn't expect it. I took any intentional romantic chemistry as being the result of casting someone with a lot of natural chemistry and didn't get my hopes up for something with a solid friend dynamic being endgame because... well, so often I like a couple that start as solid friends and they don't turn romantic!
