I can't watch or read things starring kids anymore. Buffy seems to be the one exception. I still love the early seasons. I can't watch anything else staring high school kids. I'm not sure why Buffy is different, but it just is. I never even watched Buffy as a kid, only saw it as an adult. So it isn't nostalgia.

I thought the actors playing supposed high school characters on Buffy were really in their 20's (or older) same as they usually do in movies and TV.

I think the issue is that they updated the animation style to match the current "more realistic=better" trend. Which doesn't really work when the original character designs were more cartoony in a way that worked, and thus they focused on the wrong thing.

Like sure, have more detailed scenery (maybe even lampshade the improved graphics with a funny quip). But what people want from a new Shrek movie is for it to be as funny as the first two, not to see Donkey be weirdly fluffy or to redo their facial structures for 'realism.'

Just a reminder that this guy's honest to god name is Michael O'Hare and when he was a contestant on the show he looked like this. And yes, AFAIK that is his REAL HAIR.

I really miss earlier series of Great British Menu when you had judges like Marcus Wareing and Jason Atherton. Glynn Purnell, Jeremy Lee, contestants could respect and fear those guys, they're culinary giants. Series 11 only had Richard Corrigan and Angela Hartnett left and then they bring out THIS GUY. Setting aside his fashion choices, he just doesn't have the cooking skills to sit in judgment like this.

I'm finally getting around to reading this book. It is so good. It does all the legwork of explaining how we get the state of the galaxy in the Sequels after the wins in ROTJ. I just love in-universe history books like this. I wish more fandoms had them.

Watched Klaus for the first time, and yes, it was a delightful, surprisingly good movie.

But what most impacted me was how much I wanted to read slash fic of the two male leads.
