Hm

I am under the impression that if say, I wanted to read fics for Cobra Kai, I already know which characters I want in my fics. I wouldn't use "POC character" as a tag because it is weird to ID characters by their race. And I wouldn't be able to figure out the author's intent. Did they think it would help give visibility to POC characters or are they giving readers an opportunity to wedge out "woke" fics? It's confusing me more the more I think about it. ToT

But OTOH, I know that there are fanfic authors who do things like give some existing fictional characters a reimagining. Like, creating an AU where Sherlock Holmes is an Indian man, so he has to deal with racism and xenophobia as he tries to settle into London and solve crimes.
And wouldn't it be helpful to tag that Sherlock Holmes in this AU is POC?

IDK I feel like tagging is personal
