I like it in fic when a guy with a big dick is really a bottom but is always expected to top, and finds the top of his dreams, lol.

So, opposite!

Good lighting, by which I mean WARM lighting and several light sources, none of that big cold light on the ceiling as a main source nonsense.

Art, cushy/comfortable furniture, lots of things to read.

The "layers of design" things: window treatments, area rugs, throw pillows. I know some people like the sleek, modern hotel vibe, but that feels like a sleek, modern hotel to me and not a home.

A fixed shipper is a person who only likes/writes/reads a specific top/bottom dynamic. Can there be assholes who have that preference and think it ought to be universal? Sure, just like there are assholes who think the only valid and morally correct way to ship is by switching.

I agree about the books and art, also music and a good video library.
(Unfortunately every plant I've ever had died on me so I don't have them in my home anymore except for the occasional bunch of cut flowers.)

But yeah, so many people assume women are reading D/s or Top/Bottom for the bottom or sub. Throwing their own weird gender/penetration roles onto other people.

I can't have plants anymore because my roommate has cats and she is really worried about them eating them, but I can't live in a house without plants so I've taken to buying really nice fake ones. I've been surprised at the quality! They really look like real plants and while not the same, fills a bit of that space for me.

I tend to be the opposite, I can only see ships happening in certain ways based on what I can imagine the characters wanting or liking IC, even if one config or the other is less personally hot to me. But all that means is I see one ship a certain way, so maybe that's not my favorite ship in that canon and I ship something else more

let's be real, the bottom = female role happens no matter how much switching happens. artists drawing taller/thicker characters as thin, waify, and shorter when they bottom? writers describing the bottom as shorter and smaller regardless of canon? yeah that shit is shit but it isn't confined either to switch-prefs or fixed-prefs. in so many fandom situations, regardless of the character dynamic, those fixed roles are rigidly attached to characters for all the gross reasons and not, as OP says, their personal interest, and authors and artists get dogpiled for putting the wrong character on the wrong side of the /. switch, fix, IDGAF as long as your reasoning for the always-bottom isn't "he's 2cm shorter than the top!"

My belongings ranging from furniture to pictures and knickknacks, window treatments, and little unique quirks that are the result of us problem solving about the space. Like the doggie doorbell at the back door since we can’t hear our dog approach the door on either side and he will just stand there forever waiting for someone to open the door for him. And the remote operated light switches at either end of the stairs for the lamp on the landing since there is no light there and we didn’t want to spend $6000 having a new circuit added and the stairway wired.

Colorful walls, but if the walls can't be painted, LOTS of art on the walls. I have very saturated, teal walls in my bedroom, and I actually don't have any art on my bedroom walls. I did, though, when I was stuck in an apartment that could only have cream walls.

I'm also very much on the Lots of Lamps, No Big Lights team.

LMAO, I went to Sunday School, so not everything I know from the Bible comes from ALW... but I did listen to JC Superstar and Joseph at LENGTH in K-12. (And Cats and Phantom...)

I mean, there absolutely are people who do this in a heteronormative way, like the bottom is smaller/softer/needs protecting and the top is dominant/larger/stronger despite how they actually look in canon. And they do this with m/f pairings as well!

But having a fixed preference is not in itself heteronormative, no.

What do you have to ship if one character isn't in game yet? Is there side-content with this character or what? Or is this a crack ship?

The reason that viruses spread more in cold weather is because people crowd together in small, warm indoor spaces, then take their germs to new small, warm indoor spaces. So if there's a break in that chain, yes, it will slow down spread.

But influenza is contagious for 24 hours before symptoms and 5-7 days after symptoms start, so it's going to depend on how long people really stayed home and what they do immediately after. A week is probably going to cause a small dip but nothing lasting.

This happened to me too. What helped me was planning so that I wasn't surprised by them being in my area (which was much worse than psyching myself up to go to their area) and ramping up the coping strategies outside work, being really strict on my sleep schedule in particular. And making sure to spend at least 30 minutes outside every day.

I don't get how when it's trans!fic, it's just fine and dandy for the pre-op trans man to always get fucked in the front hole, but when it's a fem!gay character then that's hetero-normative. A man is getting fucked. Doesn't make him a woman and it doesn't make the relationship het.

Yeah I see Dean and Cas as being inherently up to switch depending on mood BUT I think once Dean is ready to say 'okay I want to bottom', he is a LOT more into it than Cas is. Which is not to say that that means they ever stop switching, just that being with Cas he develops the confidence to say actually THIS is what I want and it's not something I could ask past partners for for a variety of reasons.
