Epstein files

(Anonymous) 2026-02-06 01:00 am (UTC)(link)
What do you all think? Is anyone going to be punished? Is anyone going to look for bodies?

I wish I could find out what was really going on. The emails have a lot of stuff redacted and aren't always straightforward. I see people saying wild stuff - claiming they were eating milk from babies' intestines and calling it cream cheese? Some of it seems like it's probably peoples' interpretations? I do think people were doing some awful stuff, but I don't want to get sucked into some anti-Trump equivalent of Pizzagate, as much as I hate this administration.

No one will be punished until this administration is gone. Then, maybe, we might see a few people go to trial.

I think anyone who could 'punish' them or make these people face consequences/the law is within the circle so nothing will be done. It's corrupt all the way down.

(Anonymous) 2026-02-06 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
I think it's clear that very powerful and rich people have been exploiting children, and I hope they will be punished. A lot is going to depend on the midterms in November, and the Fanta Menace is already trying to set things up to rig that election so his guys win.

(Anonymous) 2026-02-06 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
I've seen a few emails where they talk about having "girls, all between 6-7" which I guess could be something innocent but I doubt it. I've also seen a picture of Epstein with a very obvious child. There is definitely sick stuff in there but there is also a lot of general stuff in there too.

(Anonymous) 2026-02-06 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
Eating milk from baby's intestines? What? That just sounds like blood libel BS.

Re: Epstein files

(Anonymous) 2026-02-06 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. You shouldn't believe something that ridiculous just because it's about the side you're not on for once.

(But now I have a lovely mental image for when I finish off the cream cheese in my fridge I bought the other day, ew, thanks AYRT)

Re: Epstein files

It kind of sounds like Pizzagate exists because of those who associate with Epstein. There was a lot of "code" language and I wouldn't be surprised if the accusations toward Hillary Clinton was hard projection.

It's also possible that later the admin will claim it's all fake or forged somehow. Cue "It's a Democrat hoax!!" part 2. We'll see.

I really wish Biden had moved on this shit and kicked out Merrick Garland sooner. Granted, given the events of the last few years, I wonder if that would've prevented the orange turd from being on the ballot. I also wish the average voter wasn't stupid as fuck.

We did jack shit after an elementary school got shot up. No one is gonna be punished.

I have to believe there is a Hell because I think it'll be the only way these people will face punishment for their crimes.

Re: Epstein files-JK Rowling is all over them.

Turns out she might have been projecting when she rants about adults preying on kids.

Of course, that isn't all Mister Galbraith has been projecting about.

Vent/Random

(Anonymous) 2026-02-06 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
I have a random gripe I wanted to write about but didn't really want my own thread, so here is one for venting or just something you want to talk about but not start your own thread for.

Helpful hint: put your topic in the Subject line to lure people in let people know what's up

Plans Keep Changing

[personal profile] philstar22 2026-02-06 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
I'm just frustrated because I keep having to move my planned hotel weekend. First it was a fractured finger, then the snowstorm. Now I'm sick with a sinus infection and the flu. I just want my weekend in a hotel, damn it.

depression/anxiety meds

(Anonymous) 2026-02-06 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
I don't think the latest trial with mental health meds are working. I just had a kind of clarity moment where I looked around my house and saw all the piles of "I'll get to that at some point" stuff, and then realized I just spent 3hrs playing a video game and binge eating M&Ms. Not my normal. This is like the 4th different medication we've tried and either I've had a violent bad reaction (there has been a lot of vomiting) or they've done nothing. I'm about ready to give up quite honestly.

Not give up on life, just give up on medication and the idea of happiness.

Re: depression/anxiety meds

(Anonymous) 2026-02-06 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
Ugh, that really sucks. Testing medications can be so awful, between side effects and just waiting around to see if they even work.

tw sexual assault

(Anonymous) 2026-02-06 05:10 am (UTC)(link)
All this talk about the Epstein files has me 99% sure that I was touched inappropriately by an older student when I was a very young child.

I don't know how to handle this sudden information.

Fandom Pet Peeves

What are some of yours (something a bit less dark than the above).

Ignoring a characters looks

(Anonymous) 2026-02-06 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
I get annoyed when people describe a character in their fic and it's not the reality of that character. It seems to coincide with the worst offenders of "one is waifish and short and needs rescuing, and the other is tall and strong and rescues" scenarios.

For some reason people love to make their bottom characters blonde and curly haired when they are neither in the source material.

Stupid, ALL CAPS Thor. Steve Rogers being a goody two shoes. Thank Josh. :/

First person POV. When someone tags something (especially a kink or trope) and it barely shows up. When you put improper use of devil fruit powers, I WANT A TON OF IT!

Exaggerated height/size difference

(Anonymous) 2026-02-06 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
When two characters canonically have a *minimal* height difference and shippers exaggerate it to the extreme.

Epithets, as always. "He looked down at the shorter man..."

I hate spoiler culture. If you think accurately tagging your fic will "spoil" it, then it deserves to be spoiled. Tag your damn fic.

When a character makes a joke and people take it literally - that's fine in a fic or headcanon, the annoying thing is acting like the literal interpretation is canon.

Re: Fandom Pet Peeves

(Anonymous) 2026-02-06 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
Calling every character who's written as weird or who's interested in any one thing autistic coded. And it's worse if they call the writers ableist if anything slightly bad happens to the character. This is kind of brought on by someone needing to leave any -ism unaccounted for with JK Rowling; apparently she's now also bad for "abusing" Luna Lovegood and Charlie Weasley, who are autistic because "weird" and "likes dragons." Because the average middle class Brit totally had "autistic" in their vocabulary when those characters were invented.
