This reminds me of something I found so gross in a fic, and it was mentioning pizza grease all over someone's mouth/face when they were kissing.

Like, wipe your mouth, barbarian! The character was averagely fastidious, too. Gross.

Yeah that's less about realism as much as it is just being a slob. I've come across things like that too, just ew.
