See, I agree and disagree at the same time. I think it really depends on the person. Eric Dane was still a household name that was drawing in a lot of money when he was diagnosed and still when he died. And there’s no reason for the GFM, like literally no reason. Last I heard it was suspended and getting investigated.

But I don’t think that’s the case for James Van Der Beek at all. We know about his crappy contracts when he was younger, which is also the only time he was successful. He wasn’t relevant and didn’t really have fans. The ones that had been his fans back in the day are mature enough to make their own decisions and are unlikely to be emotionally swayed to donating based on his past fame. And you can see that’s the case because those people haven’t been donating, it’s been his friends.
