What a stupid take. They liked it. It's good that they didn't skip it.

“I hate this super important aspect of the show and wish it wasn’t in there.” Yeah, they should have skipped it. Shows like this are extremely rare and they aren’t for everyone and that’s OK.

"I really did like this a lot" No, they shouldn't have skipped it. Shows like this, where people do not like every single aspect about it but still enjoy it overall, are very common and that's OK.

While it's true you don't have to like every single part of a show...

"BUT i fucking hated that it was porn with plot and that there was so much character development in the sex scenes. i hate sex scenes and i couldn't skip them. fucking bullshit."

You seem to be missing that part of the secret. A significant part of the storytelling appears to have triggered a rather visceral reaction in OP. And sure, they can continue watching it, it's their right to, but if something caused that strong a reaction in me, and not in a good way, I probably would have noped out at some point.

It'd be like me saying I fucking hate spiders and the sight of them makes me want to puke or run away, and then watching a show where the storytelling method relies heavily on the presence of spiders, and complaining that spiders were in it. Sure, I can continue watching, but it's hard to make the case that I'm enjoying it at all when the misery appears to outweigh any pleasure.

Exactly. There are over a thousand shows made in America alone every year. OP was not "forced" to sit through sex scenes to get the plot. They chose to watch a show where intimacy is clearly part of how the story is told.

If OP "fucking hate[s] sex scenes" and the show uses them for major character development, then maybe... just maybe... it wasn’t made for them. That's not oppression, it's just not everything being tailored to a single person's tastes.

Acting like the show committed a crime because it didn't tone itself down is ridiculous. They could have turned it off at literally any point. Watched something else. No one had a gun to their head.

There are thousands of other shows out there. If it was that miserable, why keep watching? Life is short. Why spend your free time hate-watching something and then acting shocked that it didn't magically change for you? If they cared about the plot that much, Google a recap and call it a day.

Bean soup problem all over again.

For real. I wish more people would be accepting of the idea that not everyone is going to enjoy everything. Sometimes, something will get popular and have lots of fans, and you won't like it. And that's ok, it doesn't mean anything is wrong with you, it doesn't mean anything is wrong with that thing, it just means you don't enjoy it.
