I am glad she left NYT (The New York Times) with how she describes their treatment of her, but I am also sad because I think it means the end of bigger mainstream success. I thought she could be huge. I had this vision of her as a millennial Julia Child, making everything seem genuinely doable with that unwavering cheerful positivity.

I've been listening to the Malory Towers audiobooks to fall asleep lately and I know it's not a new discovery but it really pisses me off how much of an insufferable bully Alicia is and how even on the rare occasion the others aren't happy about her behaviour, she still never gets any lasting consequences for it.

I didn't mind the Muppets Mayhem as a tv show (the human characters and predictable plot dragged it down) but the soundtrack is a bop. 10/10 recommend.

Never watched Game of Thrones, or read the books, but I would 100% watch Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. If only it wasn't on such a stupid streaming service in my country. I guess I'll just get my fix secondhand from fanspaces, in the old ways again.

I'm honestly sick and tired of all of the women who try to imply that if you, as a woman, don't buy and play games aimed at women, you're somehow a sexist/misogynist.

I don't play those games because I hate romance and dress-up and cozy sims and rhythm games and those are 99% of what games marketed towards women are. There's nothing misogynistic about it because I don't play BL games either - I'm not into the dating sim aspects. I just don't find those things interesting or fun. Let me kill monsters and do platforming puzzles!

If any company actually made action games starring a cast of attractive guys (AND NO ROMANCE OR SELF-INSERT MCS), I'd be all over that. Give me some fun gameplay while I get to stare at a hot dude's ass, thanks. But until then? No, I'm not going to waste my money on stuff I won't enjoy even if it's ostensibly made for women, because women aren't a monolith.

What a blast from the past! I loved those books as a kid. I read these and other Enid Blyton books series all the way through and would start again at the beginning. Boarding school sounded so exotic and so much fun.

why do we have these takes in the year 2026? how tiring. is this a mainstream sentiment now? never heard something like this before and I've been happily gaming since 1995.
I play mainly point and click adventures (old lucas art style), horror games (dead space, silent hill), old FPS (doom, heretic) and strategy games I've never perceived it like a "gendered" thing.
