That is a fanciful read of the secret. OP didn't say that they were miserable or had a visceral reaction; or that they're oppressed, the show committed a crime, the show should have toned it down. OP said "I like" and "I hate", and you seem hear "this show should". The only ones who make demands are you two: OP "should have skipped the show". Simmer down, OP is not attacking your fave.

First of all, if OP does not like sex scenes but ventured outside their comfort zone to watch the popular sex show anyway, and ended up liking it despite the sex scenes, I really don't think the lesson to take away is "you should have skipped the show".

And second, my own fanciful read of the secret is that OP is, statistically, around 40 years old, capable of rational decision making, and did not have gun to their head. If they kept watching despite hating parts of the show, because they really liked the other parts a lot, where do you get off telling them they "should" not watch it?
