Sometimes I feel americans in general are prudes.

I don't mean just conservatives for what happens to be right wing in the US. When I see how fandom circles have developed these last years, especially antis, I can't help but think americans have an aversion towards sex and pleasure.

Agreed!
This is such a random thing, but the sheer shock people had at a throwaway remark about wizards just relieving themselves where they stood really showed this for me. British history is very scatological; we learn about toilets in hilarious ways (everyone loves hearing about the "long drop"), and we had a king killed on the toilet! No real slang words for the loo.

Americans have plenty slang words for the can. And American media is FULL of scatological humor-- whether it's for kids (for whom loving laughing at poop is universal) or for adults. Seriously, it's EVERYWHERE. If you think Americans have a problem being too prudish about poo, I can only assume you have been managing to avoid a *lot* of American media (what's your secret, by the way?).

Also, I can't NOT say "Americans ALSO have a king who died on the toilet, his name was Elvis", but I do need you to know that is not a serious comment, it just popped into my head.
