(Anonymous) 2026-03-07 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)Sexy hero/ine fantasy?
Power hero/ine fantasy?
Self-insert mary sue?

Normal person who gets dragged into larger events?

(Anonymous) 2026-03-07 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)20 year old characters unavoidably flirting sexily at mine definitely throw me out of stories a lot. They were built for a certain type of player playing a certain type of character and you can tell

(Anonymous) 2026-03-07 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)If I had to pick a most common type via DnD alignment I think I do tend to gravitate towards the neutral good archetype on first play-throughs, and then I'll try something different if I do second, third and fourth runs.

(Anonymous) 2026-03-07 10:39 pm (UTC)(link)Also never evil. I have tried but even moderate evil actions make me uncomfortable. I challenged myself to play a more grey than fully redeemed/resisting Durge and I really struggle sometimes, even though I'm not going full evil.
I think it's mainly a mix of normal person who gets dragged into larger events and power fantasy - in the sense of "Normal person who gets dragged into larger events and rises to the occasion". And I personally would like to be more consistent with actually roleplaying the character I chose, with all consequences but my own morals and opinions tend to override what the actual character SHOULD do in a lot of cases.
Catch-Up
I'm finally catching up on 911. Actually enjoying this season again now that they are back on earth. First 4 episodes this season were really bleh. But 5 was decent and 6 and 7 were good.

(Anonymous) 2026-03-07 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)But otherwise I'm waiting for season 2 of Once Piece to air because that was good fun and I'm looking foward to more.

(Anonymous) 2026-03-07 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)That's not to say that there's no drama at all, even rom-coms get to a drama point for the couple and this season does that too, but overall it felt like they were going for a fantasy-regency rom-com more than romance drama if that makes sense? Oh also shut off any knowledge about the Recency period you may have as it plays very fast and loose with that, but it never promised historical accuracy so it's never bothered me.

With Fallout, I think I’m a little apprehensive about what they’re going to do with the characters and I’m resisting finding out what choices they actually made.
With Slow Horses, I just cooled down on the whole series and I stopped watching it together with a friend, so it’s been easy to put off indefinitely.
Oh, and I keep forgetting they even made a second season of The Gold.
Re: Catch-Up
(Anonymous) 2026-03-07 10:39 pm (UTC)(link)It's a funny as hell show, many times I was howling with laughter. I enjoy a cast of extremely selfish and vapid characters (and TBH that's literally the point of the show, we're following a group of selfish millennials), but IDK...it's this feeling of as zany and unpredictable as this show gets - which I like - I can't help but feel like I won't like where it ends and I'll be annoyed that I wasted time watching a show that drags into too absurd for me to enjoy or boring and pandering.
