Cat Question

[personal profile] philstar22 2026-03-11 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
My cat had dental surgery today. 2 teeth pulled. I'm keeping an eye on her, only gave her a little dinner to see if she keeps it down. But is there anything else I should keep an eye on or worry about?

Food refusal and lethargy are the two I know about but my experience is hardly extensive. Get her back to the vet if she has either because those are signs of an infection and you need her checked over immediately if she has either.

Thanks. I haven't noticed anything yet. In fact, she's wanting to eat, vet said to only give her a little, so that's what we did. But she's begging for more. She does seem sleepy still, but I think that's just the anesthesia.

For just two teeth, not really. She should recover really quick from that. My cat had 5 out and recovered quickly (and she is elderly).

Thanks. Glad your kitty came out fine. I know I'm overly worrying. I'm absolutely the stereotypical pet parent when it comes to her. She's my girl.

I hope your cat's okay. I think just taking it easy and keeping their food soft is the best bet. If they're particularly off I wouldn't hesitate to call the vet to ask though. But aside from some tiredness and sore gums, I don't think there's much else to look for. Sending my best!
