Huh, I don't think of him very often, but I guess he is still high in the canon of English Literature.

I'd be curious if there are specific reasons you've never read any of his novels. Have you tried and not finished? Is there something about the style or subject matter that just doesn't appeal?

(Since I don't pretend to be that well read, having never tried his work doesn't feel like a big deal for me. I do feel some meager shame about other authors or works I've never read, but it's a more esoteric list.)
