Secrets you don't want to make...

... but you wouldn't mind if someone else made them for you! As always, including the fandom and full character names is a big help, and while I'm definitely not the world's greatest expert at secret design, I'll try my best. Please note that long comment secrets can be difficult to make with a good end result. Most of the time, I'll give it a shot but might not be able to make secrets where the text is so lengthy that I can't fit it into the limited space.

I'm trying something new with the comment secret thread and extending the deadline to comment until Monday's post goes up. I'll monitor this thread until then, and hope the extra day will be more helpful for everyone.

The best Bond outfit was Brosnan's tuxedo and vest in Tomorrow Never Dies. I just love that outfit, I wish I had the bodytype which could wear.

As far as I'm concerned, you have three options:
1. Not watch the new Harry Potter.
2. Watch the new Harry Potter but shut up about it.
3. Admit to watching the new Harry Potter and be judged.

Afroman's "Lemon Pound Cake" is kind of a bop, plus, out of all the cops this is the only one whose actions were relatable and defensible. That did look like a delicious cake. I'd stop to look at it too, probably write to his lawyer afterwards too and ask for the recipe and compliment his mama for making it. I think I'm doing authoritarianism wrong.

The Roddenberry Box was a good thing, actually, because it challenged writers to be able to work out their story in the first place. A lot of Trek storylines today just seem unfinished even as they filmed.

I'm completely uninterested in the creators of things I like with the exception of looking for other things they've created. Then people are like "never meet your idols!" or "don't idealize celebrities!" like that's the normal, natural thing to want to do and I feel weird about it.

I don't even like seeing performers live. Creations only please. The purposely edited version of the show or song or whatever they wanted the audience to experience is all I'm interested in.

Whenever the conversation about how 'there's never been any popular femslash on Tumblr' I feel like I'm going crazy because I remember all the 2010s fandoms that were absolutely everywhere back in the day.
[examples of fandoms to choose from for images: Orange is the New Black, Supergirl, The 100, Glee, Once Upon a Time, Korra/sequel to Avatar the last Airbender, Adventure Time, Camilla the webseries and Undertale.]

My flabber is well and truly gasted. I've just noped out of a fanfic because they were censoring brand names. As in "I bought him a Sw*tch 2 and a Minecr*ft sword for Christmas".

This is the second fic I've come across where this gas happened, but I genuinely thought it was just a typo the first time! I cannot think of a single reason why you would bother to censor brand names in a fanfic of all things.

I was and still am a huge fan of the old Mononoke series and I wanted so badly to like the new movies but honestly, they're not great. It all feels like it was done by people who tried to copy the show without knowing what made it good (which isn't the case, I know, but still feels that way).
Especially the style, colours and textures are just off. Also, the writing is... lackluster at best, especially in the first movie. So sad as it makes me, I'm not a fan.

I think Mona Simpson is a more toxic parent to Homer than Abe was. She just kept dumping him, at least Abe stuck around.

With Trump back in power, is there any reason Netflix isn't giving us a new season of Space Force? The reason it got canned was Biden became President and the US Government wasn't crazy no more, that is clearly no longer the case!

I wish Disney would have released a full Powerline album. I listen to the hell out of "Stand Out" and "I2I" already and would devour more music.

My child adored Finding Nemo when they were a baby. We played out that DVD, over and over. Now my baby making whale noises is 17 and a full teenager itching to swim out on their own, and I keep remembering this line from the movie: "You can't never let anything happen to him. Then nothing would ever happen to him." It's silly, but this quotation comforts and guides me as the parent of a teenager.

I watched all of the Mr. Mercedes show and was left shipping Holly and Lou.

Bonus secret! As much as the show put forth Holly as the darling, I liked Lou better.

I used to follow and respect a woman who went by the handle UppityNegress on social media. She is bold, and unapologetic and well researched and feminist, so I dug her. But I had to unfollow her after the ableist vitriol she expoused in reaction to the BAFTA n-word debacle. She wasn't furious at the producers and organizers of the events - she was at a man who couldn't help it, even calling for violence against him. Yeah...I'm out (and disappointed).

I'm long past finding shows like American Dad watchable/entertaining but the Roger clips that pop up still make me giggle, especially when he says "Oh Staniel!".

Honestly, that movie made me super anti-litter and is still in my head when I pick up trash as I come across it in nature.

You know that scene where Elle Woods throws a box of chocolates as a romantic movie on her t.v. and yells "Liar!".

...yeah, that about sums up why I don't like romantic movies, or at least heterosexual ones.

And yes, before anyone says it, I know it's my own baggage, but I'll happily stick to horror movies and documentaries as genres.

I grew up ADORING the Aladdin cartoon on Disney channel and tried to rematch it recently but couldn't finish...the art and animation style is too ugly. I guess I didn't notice as a kid? I understand they didn't want to spend the money on the original animators/artists of the movie, but it's kind of a waste because the stories on the show are fun and they came up with some cool original characters (Mozenrath, Mirage).

My OCD has led me to struggle with intrusive thoughts, very distressingly, but then I thought back to a Winnie the Pooh movie I watched as a small child back on VHS, and a scene/shot of sticks and leaves floating peacefully down a stream. I think they were racing sticks down the stream? That's how I deal with those thoughts now - I see them, recognize them, and let them float down away from me in the stream. It really has helped.

I've never been able to spot when a man is wearing a wig. Not even when it has been as obvious as Walter Koenig in his later roles, or even Frankie Howerd in Up Pompeii. It is just a blind spot I have. I don't even know if Ernie Wise supposedly wearing a toup is just a joke or not. How do you all spot them?

I really miss Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, I hate that GW ditched it as not being distinct enough from DnD nor as big a money generator as the endless army creation and reboots from regular Wh or Wh40k. It was fun to do individual stories in the background of the old Wh world.

I know about the licensed stuff, but that is just not the same

I still consider George in the Famous Five to be an inexpertly-written transman, living in an era where being trans was even less well understood than even today. The way recent adaptations have gone out of their way to try and erase that aspect of his character is pretty disgusting, although far from unexpected give exactly which particular influential and rich Terf has been outspoken on admiring the character whilst completely failing to interrogate their own gender issues.

For all the love I have for Baldur's Gate 3, I'm really over the very limited and repetitive soundtrack. There are only so many variations of the ~down down down by the river~ melody I can take (I don't actually think it's particularly good to begin with) and every time I start the game, I mute the sound until I loaded the save because I've come to loathe that fucking sound when you switch from the start screen to the main menu.
AAAHHHHHHH - yeah no shut up.
(And for all the fun the voice actor had with it, Raphael's song is just incredibly out of place and annoying, especially when you play on a higher difficulty and the fight drags on and on.)
