I think that if it's not your intention to be rude, then fair enough. But with a lot of these comments I've been seeing, they definitely come across as rude.

If you find something annoying, then fair enough, though I guess it's just something you have to live with/look past/avoid as best you can. As far as I can tell, they all seem to enjoy themselves and I don't think they mean to be obnoxious in their behaviour, it's just how that comes across to a lot of people, unfortunately. It's just their way of having fun. ^_^ (And we're back to 'live and let live')

[identity profile] zanzou-chan.livejournal.com 2009-12-08 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
Oh for sure, haha, I'm not talking on behalf of the anons (THOUGH I MUST SAY, I FEEL A KIND OF VINDICATION FOR FINALLY NOT BEING THE LONE VOICE IN THE DARK), but for me, since I am apparently ~fandom secrets famous~ for these situations.

(Anonymous) 2009-12-08 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
Whatever. They're all you.

(Anonymous) 2009-12-08 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
Sessile, is that you?!

[identity profile] sessile29.livejournal.com 2009-12-08 06:09 am (UTC)(link)
SOMEBODY CALL MY NAME?

[identity profile] zanzou-chan.livejournal.com 2009-12-08 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
Hahahaha, oh anons. <3

[identity profile] affablyevil.livejournal.com 2009-12-08 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
No, I am Spartacus!

(Anonymous) 2009-12-08 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
As someone who read F!S daily, I personally applaud you for being vocal here (and under your name). I'm open about my dislike of Castiel/Misha on my journal, but I do admittedly sometimes get a tad more wanky than I want to put my name to around here, so I stay anon.

Nonetheless, dude, you are so not alone. :)

[identity profile] zanzou-chan.livejournal.com 2009-12-08 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. What got to me was not so much being the only one who wasn't anon-- it was the fact that people were saying things like 'you are the only one' as though the fact that anons had been, and have been, saying it, makes them ~not count~. B|
ext_182002: (Default)

[identity profile] kestrellan.livejournal.com 2009-12-08 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
What the anon said above me, I applaud you for at least expressing your opinion without hiding behind anonimity like a lot of others. And honestly, you do come across as one of the less wanky ones. And outside of Castiel discussions you seem more fun-loving (not that I stalk you or anything, heh, but I noticed your name in other comment threads), and your icon itself can attest to that :P

[identity profile] zanzou-chan.livejournal.com 2009-12-08 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
I get really frustrated with the whole "hiding behind anonymity" thing that people bring up. I don't think being anon is anything to be ashamed of-- we're not privy to their reasons for it, and even if we were, being anon SHOULDN'T WARRANT AN EXPLANATION. It's not some lesser form of communication, it doesn't make you, or your opinion, less valuable. oseseht :( leave anons alone, omg!!1

B| I try not to be wanky. It is hard sometimes, though. And seriously, I wouldn't be so >:| about everything if SPN as a show we're disappointing me as well, so fandom not backing me up on this very much/often just makes me feel worse, and then I have this SPN-bitter-haze that surrounds everything about it. D:

B| There is no fun in Steve/Tony fandom. It is all serious business.

[identity profile] kestrellan.livejournal.com 2009-12-08 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
Hey, okay, I didn't mean to step on anyone's toes about the anon thing. It's just the impression I get when the people who hate on Castiel/Misha often do it behind anonymity, it just creates (for me) the impression of pettiness and cowardice. Granted, this may not be the case at all, but it is the impression I get from it, which makes me a little resentful of it.

[identity profile] zanzou-chan.livejournal.com 2009-12-08 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
...I just have that anon-quasi rant like. Ready to go at a second's notice. I think I did it somewhere else in the same thread. Omgwatch me defend anons omg!!!1 IDK it's just something that comes up a lot that I find myself unable to not challenge when it happens.

Yeah, I can get that. I just like go to "but that isn't necessarily it!", and have people at least realize that even if they get that feeling, it might not be how things ARE...IDK I guess I'm just a pro-awareness type of person on all fronts. Or something. But I get where they're coming from.
ext_182002: (Default)

[identity profile] kestrellan.livejournal.com 2009-12-08 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
*sigh* Well, I try to be pro-awareness, I really do, so I get where you're coming from and agree there are likely other reasons. Still, my point is just that it seems that it could be a lot easier to be more malicious when you can't be held accountable for your comments by name. Therefore, my experience is that people are far more willing to get into a full-scale wankfest in anon-mode than if they're doing it by username.

[identity profile] zanzou-chan.livejournal.com 2009-12-08 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I can agree. But sometimes, if you're holding a really, really unpopular opinion that you know is going to get you jumped on/devolve to wank anyway? Being anon is nice.

....Though it does make you more willing to be an immature idiot instead of ~handling yourself well~, haha, that is for sure. BUT NOT ALL OF THEM DO IT, I'M SURE. Mostly. Probably.

Def. not alone. I just don't bother with using my username here anymore. I learned my lesson in the past, but great that you still have the bravery to do it;)

[identity profile] zanzou-chan.livejournal.com 2009-12-08 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
I've tried to explain that to people, having been anon at times myself. Sometimes you just don't want shit to follow you home. :|

[identity profile] affablyevil.livejournal.com 2009-12-08 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
I think it's cool that you can and do own up to your opinions, even if I disagree with them sometimes. So uh, props from over here.

[identity profile] zanzou-chan.livejournal.com 2009-12-08 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
Well, think about the situations the anons face when they're considering de-anoning. Myself, a vocal non-anon, am very well known for these sorts of things, have been accused of anon-puppetry to back up my opinions/claims, have been called a variety of names-- and I'm not really saying anything outrageous. I'm not an angry sort of person, generally. But some people get more riled up by things, and things could get carried away-- do THEY want to become known as that sort of person, when they usually aren't? I know I wouldn't.

IDK, I just feel like having arguments on the internet shouldn't ruin your future fandom careers, and I've seen it happen too much to be unsympathetic for people covering their asses.

[identity profile] affablyevil.livejournal.com 2009-12-08 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
Right, I wasn't trying to call the anons cowards for posting anonymously or anything like that, more trying to say "Hey, you're being brave with a dissenting opinion, that's cool." And yeah, anonymity affords certain protections that I'm cool with, but sometimes some of the most biting, trolly comments seem more so because they're coming from an anon who's feeling venomous for whatever reason and need to vent on someone. /shrug

But yeah, I definitely agree with you about people wanting to protect themselves from vitriol and whatever. And name-calling is never fun. Just wanted to say I support your disagreement even if I disagree with your disagreement. I also think you empower people who disagree to not feel so alone in their minority/less vocal/squashed? opinions, and sometimes end up taking the heat for it. So that's cool. Is what I was trying to say. :)

[identity profile] zanzou-chan.livejournal.com 2009-12-08 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, haha, yes. I'm just...rant-ready, on some subjects. *ahem* B| Moving on.

Totally, yeah, trolling behind anon is bad. But weirdly, I find non-anon trolling-- especially when it's obviously trolling-- to be even worse. What does it say about you if you AREN'T a bit ashamed of wanting to make people feel bad? :||| Seriously.

:>>>> Well ty anyway.

[identity profile] affablyevil.livejournal.com 2009-12-08 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
From what I've seen, you've got reason to.

And I see your point about non-anon, but also... well, if you don't know who is so pissed at you or angry at your opinions, then you don't know who to avoid in the future? The possible two-faced aspect of it makes me sad and uncomfortable. If I don't like someone or their ideas, I just avoid them, rather than the passive aggressive trolling stuff.

Then again we all get sarcastic and cranky sometimes so what do I know. And sometimes people's enthusiasm makes them excessively defensive and vocal and then it turns into people ganging up on each other and trying to shut people down and... BLAH. What a mess.

Most of the time I want people to chillax and have some tea. Tea is nice.

I'm not really saying anything outrageous

Oh, no. All you've done is made it really clear that you'll put in a concerted effort to stop something that annoys you because it... annoys you.

So if putting two and two together between you saying that and then very suddenly seeing a wave of anon support (esp. for yourself) is such a huge leap... lol, all right.

(And like you saying that it's all right to go anon as a cop-out isn't very telling, either.)

[identity profile] zanzou-chan.livejournal.com 2009-12-08 01:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Dude. I've done the anons-are-people too rant. I don't even deny that there have been times when I was anon.

And seriously, given that /a bunch of people/ have said they agree with me, as well as the fact that only the most recent thread on the subject has really brought up my rage against annoyance, I do believe you are just looking to deny the truth.

(Anonymous) 2009-12-08 06:38 pm (UTC)(link)
A bunch of people, one person, you - who the hell can tell?

And please. You've been trying to start shit amongst Mishafen for a while now. This isn't a new thing. Who cares how "politely" you think you may word it - it's still a case of "you're aggravating me, so I'm gonna try to aggravate you".
