This doesn’t surprise me even a little.

I will say that the app didn’t really work right. It would have me change things out all the time but not make them permanent and not actually change anything except add one more thing. Combined with the excessive notifications, it had a very bad effect on me. I was really struggling and instead of making me feel like I was accomplishing the small tasks, it made me feel like I wasn’t doing enough. I deleted and went back to writing things down daily and it was like a huge weight was lifted.

Oh man, I LOVED the Wuzzles! So many people I talk to have no idea what it is.

Last I heard of that fandom, they were angry because the Ducktales reboot parodied the Wuzzles as horrible mutant monsters.

Dungeon Crawler Carl has been the most amazingly wonderful fun and supportive fandom I’ve ever been in! I was just reading a post from a newbie asking for cosplay help and a bunch of people jumped in with tips and links to items in case OP needed to buy anything. OP was trying to use just things they had on hand and was getting approval and support for that. The whole fandom has just been nonstop buzzing the last few months with all the new merch and events and the next book on the horizon.

Oh, man, 8tracks. I used it mostly for non-fandom mixes but I remember when my Welcome To Night Vale playlist was declared a certified gem. I felt so proud of myself and my selecting abilities. I wish I'd kept that tracklist; I want to return to my younger self's mindset and see how much still works.

Honestly almost every part of the Tolkien fandom I've poked into has been really fun and welcoming. People have their favourite parts of the canon and adaptations sure, but at least in the creative side of the fandom, folks seem to be able to agree to disagree very easily and if there are discussions about what someone likes/didn't like it's productive and doesn't devolve into the bizarre name-calling I've seen in other fandoms over it.

There's a reason it's been a long-standing fandom for me.

(Outside of creative fandom, ugh, it's another matter entirely, god forbid you like RoP or The Hobbit movies around them. Prepare to be lectured, while they get canon facts wrong)

I loved 8tracks!

Baldur's Gate 3, specifically the okaybuddybaldur subreddit and a couple of character-specific spaces besides.

So agree. Well, there are a few places on facebook that are hateful towards movie or show fans and weirded out by non-canon shipping. But that is only a few groups that I quickly unfollowed. For the most part, it has been the best fandom I've ever been in.

What makes it special for me is how different views, different interests, are all accepted. You can be a movie-only fan, you can be a show-only fan, you can dislike the adaptions, you can only like some of the books. It doesn't matter. If you like any of Tolkien's world, the fandom accepts you.

Those books have been on my to-read for a while. This may make me push it up to the top of the list. It is always nice to find friendly fandoms.

I had a great time in my spot in the NBC Hannibal fandom until a mod became an anti. I've yet to find another good spot, though tbf I haven't been looking very hard.

Yeah, outside of the shipping parts some folks get real weirded out by the non-canon ships, but so long as they're not being assholes about it I don't mind if people are confused. I've met some who are boggled but then fall into being bemused but nice about it.

Exactly, I've had really nice chats with people that are book-only fans but aren't rude or nasty about the fact that I love all the visual adaptations while also liking the book. Like I get their perspective and they've understood why I like the adaptations even if they don't. It's nice and chill for the most part. Plus theres' the general agreement that if someone is getting weird about it on a platform where you can block them then you do and move on, lmao.

Do you think it's possible to fall back in love with someone?

(Anonymous) 2026-04-12 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you think you can make yourself fall in love again? If you feel like you're unhappy in a relationship and fundamentally dissatisfied with it, is it possible to make yourself feel it again?

(Anonymous) 2026-04-12 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)

I think this is a matter of the different presentation.

Bridgerton has "long gowns and gloves, rules of behavior and manners, members of Society, can you believe he used that fork?" type of setting that gives people Not In the Know the assumption that it's pretending to be Literature, when really it's just being a specific kink. To people who don't have that kink, it looks like they're trying to dress up their soft core porn. "OMG, why did you deceive me, this isn't a delicate regency romance! Just admit it's not actually LiteratureTM, it's just porn!!1eleventy"

Heated Rivalry on the other hand is a setting where dudes bang around on the ice, and then off the ice. The kink is more in-your-face recognizable, so there's no dissonance to make people think there's a possible disguise or trickery.

You are not a bad person. You can find people with autism annoying or even dislike them, as long as you are not hating them specifically to hate on autism.

Only if both of you work at it. Love is a verb.

Not "make yourself" exactlu but I do think if you work on yourself and the relationship you can fall back in love and be happy in the relationship again. Totally depends on the relationship and specific situation though.

I was obsessed with making playlists.

(Anonymous) 2026-04-12 09:00 pm (UTC)(link)
There's a good chance if you still have a direct link to that playlist floating around (like, if it was posted on Tumblr or something) you could at least download the tracklist via waybackmachine. I just did this with a few of my old playlists. I didn't find all of them because they weren't that popular but if this was a popular playlist, chances are you might still find it.

I have autism. My nephew has autism, too. I use up basically all my patience on him because I find his autistic tics and quirks annoying as fuck. Thankfully I only see him twice a decade or so, since we live so far apart. I still care about what happens to him and would step in to help immediately, but I never ever ever want to live with him or spend anything more than a token amount of time around him. Does that make me a bad person? I don't think so. We're just incompatible. It happens.

I've caught a few on 80 cartoon youtubes, it's a lot wittier than I remembered.

(Anonymous) 2026-04-12 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)
That's sad, but not surprising.

I had a great time in the Havemercy novel fandom. It was wildly active but not huge and it was just a nice smallish community with lots of content. It's long dead and the novel was kinda cringe in hindsight (really fanficcy) and the sequels lacked a lot of the charm of the first novel and it would have been better as a standalone imo but damn the fandom was fun while it lasted.
