Or maybe it's just a simple matter of not yucking other people's yum. And you could flip it around on the critics themselves -- are they taking other people's preferences as an attack on their character just because the cozy game fans won't play something that's more challenging or fast-paced?

Also, taking criticism of one's likes as a personal attack is not unique to those games, or video games in general.
