As much as trauma sucks, it's not other people's responsibility to manage it for you.

Fucking seriously.
If you get triggered, you take care of yourself in the moment. You don't lash out at other people and make assumptions about how they must handle their trauma. How you manage triggers is your responsibility. I have no sympathy for that.
Ironically, that's something my abusers have done and it's a trigger for someone to lash out when I'm trying to help, but you don't see me trying to tell people how to post in a public community.

It took me an embarrassingly long time to understand that it's abusive to attack others because you're triggered. It's one thing if someone's being an asshole and doing it on purpose, but most people aren't and have NO idea what's going to set you off. This is why it's a bad idea to reply in the heat of the moment - better to cool off, collect your thoughts, and come back.

It's true OP fucked up by not collapsing their comment. It's also true that cussing them out because you're triggered isn't good.
