My acne actually wasn't too bad when I was a teenager, but it got progressively worse as I got older. Finally, when I was 30, I went to a dermatologist, and taking a drug called spironolactone has almost completely cured it.

But not completely. About once every 3 to 4 months, I get one really terrible nasty spot that will not go away.

The last one was right before Christmas. I remember it because I had a few days off work for the holiday, and I knew that the spot that was developing was going to be bad enough that there would be traces of it after I came back. Lol, that was an understatement. It turned out to be one of these ones that lingers and lingers and lingers. It took SO LONG to finally heal up, and even now, there is a faint red spot where it was.

A week or so ago, I had another one start in. I was afraid it was going to be one of the bad ones, and sure enough. At first it seemed to be going away, and I thought maybe I was mistaken, but oh no. It came back, and it's still here, and it's so gross. I can tell it's another one that's going to leave a trace that's still there in July.

I use a prescription retinol, benzoyl peroxide, metronidazole gel, and mostly my skin is clear and looks good except for these damn spots that come up once in awhile.

I can put makeup over it, but like, by the end of the day it still looks bad. But if I DON'T put makeup on it, I have this really nasty spot that people have to look at all day.

Sometime I really need to see about visiting the dermatologist while I have one of these going. I don't think it's cystic acne, but maybe there is something else they could do/prescribe for it to make it heal faster. It's soooo aggravating.

I feel thius. Nothing works for me. My only consolation is that I have been told people with oily skin have less wrinkles.

i don't get them often, but at the first sign that i might be getting a bad pimple (which is actually a cyst and will scar if you try to pop it), i always put a micro dart pimple patch on it as soon as possible. it's the only thing that works for me.

i like Peach Slices deep blemish microdarts. Mighty Patch also makes a patch with microdarts. i leave the patch on for 8 to 10 hours, then i wait a day before putting on another one otherwise it'll dry the skin out and the microdarts can't penetrate dry skin.

you might also want to try a very mild face cleanser and mild lotion by Cetaphil. always put lotion on your face after washing it or the skin will over-produce oils to replace what was stripped away. for really irritated patches of skin, i also use Desitin diaper rash cream because the zinc is really good for calming irritated skin.

I know there was discussion about scented trash bags a day or two ago, and I just want to add on to that with strong scents in general. Not everything needs to have a strong scent. It's also not necessary to saturate your body and clothing with a strong perfume or cologne. I do have a special hatred for scented trash bags because most of them DO smell so artificial and gross AND cause headaches, but even perfumes that smell good can be bad too when they're really strong. Like please don't wear so much that you leave a trail behind you everywhere you go, and so much that people can taste you. I can be sensitive to scents and it sucks when someone has so much cologne or perfume or even fabric softener than it gives me a headache. I had a coworker who bought scented lysol spray and febreze and would spray the shit out of everything, it was unbearable. Finally had to go to the boss over it and he spoke her about it (apparently I wasn't the only one who had a problem with it) and she got offended over it!

This rant was sponsored by whoever it is at my work who wears so much cologne the elevator stinks after they use it.

Oh I get it 100%. I love perfume and scented stuff, but I know not everyone does. I try to keep it toned down. Some perfumes are extremely strong, and need to be worn sparingly. I never use too much in public because I don't want to be the cause of someone else having allergies or a migraine from my scents.

The Lysol-sprayer sounds awful! My mom bought some disinfectant spray that was supposed to be floral-scented, and it was horrible. It was just the strong Lysol smell with a very heavy synthetic floral stink mixed in, it was really bad. In fact, I think she still has it somewhere, because it was so bad she won't use it, and went and got a different kind instead.

I was always thankful that (before we started to wfm) I was on a scent free floor.

We have a law against that where I live. Most of those artificial scents are made using animal products and we have one of the highest concentrations of people with the red meat allergy from tick bites. It took a county health department nurse almost dying but things started to change after that.

My primary migraine trigger is smells so I feel this rant in my bones. I've had migraines since I was 8 and I've always been extremely sensitive to smells in general. I'm now 40 and my family still doesn't understand/find it in themselves to be considerate about it.
I hate it so much. Like, I love several floral scents and perfumes but I still get migraines from them, it's fucking sad. I honestly get headaches less than 30 seconds after being exposed to a scent I'm sensitive to (which is... a lot of them). Hell, I can't even drink jasmine tea because of the smell and I fucking love jasmine.

Ugh, I hate it when people drench themselves in perfume/cologne. NOTHING smells nice when it's used to excess like that. I've been shopping in a grocery store and walked right into someone's perfume chemtrail and they're no longer even in that aisle, that's how much it stinks. And don't get me started on being trapped in elevators with that.

Oh, I stopped wearing perfume years ago for this reason. There are enough scents in lotions and soaps and deodorants. I don't even use fabric softener/dryer sheets anymore. It's okay to just be clean and not reek of cologne!

Also, isn't spraying everything with Lysol how you get superbugs? Ugh.

cosigned! I was driving home with my window open the other day, the weather was so nice, and I had to pause to let a pedestrian walk past my driveway before I could pull in. He was half a block away and the lingering fumes of his cologne were so strong that I got a huge whiff of it through my car window as I crossed his path to get into the driveway. Almost enough to trigger an asthma attack (got inside to my inhaler quickly). Like, fuck me sideways why do people do this. I feel bad for people on the bus he got on at the end of the block.

Thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis. Perfume/cologne should be intimate and for up close interactions. I should NOT be able to smell it/you from two cars away in a parking lot, for fuck's sake.
This is why i do not go down the laundry detergent aisle if I can help it, yucko.

I missed the previous convo about scented trash bags, but I hate those! The fake scent is so strong and cloying, then mix it with rotting garbage smells and I'm gagging.

There should be a law against strong scents. If I can smell you across the dining room floor or can't walk down the detergent aisle because I can't breathe, it's banned.

I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING YET. I TOLD YOU I'D LET YOU KNOW AS SOON AS I FOUND SOMETHING OUT. AND I HAVEN'T. PLEASE STOP FUCKING ASKING.

Sorry, I know I'm kind of being an asshole, but it's getting really frustrating. I want news too - good news preferably! - but badgering me isn't going to help anything.

I've had a headache for like three days now. :( I think it is work stress that won't be letting up any time soon. I have a long weekend vacation in a couple weeks that will hopefully help.

I got a flat tire and the shop couldn’t find the hole to patch it. I also really needed new tires and I knew that was but was trying to put off spending the money as long as I could. I got four new tires today and my summer plans all have to be canceled. I hate how expensive everything is nowadays :(

Sometimes, I get so tired of doing routine human hygiene/maintenance. I get tired of having to eat. Oh look, it's time to fix food AGAIN. Time to drink water. Time to go pee. Time to have a shower. Time to wash my face. Time to brush my teeth. Time to go to bed. Oh, goody, my period just started. Time to deal with armpit hair. I just get tired of it.

Had an absolute evil just yesterday. Wouldn't even let me put on any of my 4 witnesses. Told my client he was a bad dad to his 4 USC kids because he was here without a visa and got himself detained and that him being detained was no different for his kids than when he had to travel for work. Repeatedly yelled at my client. Wouldn't let me present my case at all. Would have been a very solid appeal, but he knows he won't get appealed because detained clients are miserable and don't want to stay in the hell hole they are in.

I held his sobbing mother yesterday while we explained to his family what happened.

There will be a reckoning someday, and that man is going to lose his job. But right now, he is free to do all the evil he wants. Genuinely the worst judge I have ever run across and probably the worst human being I've ever met.

For the love of FUCKING ALL THINGS, please STOP licking your fingers and then touching my groceries and my fucking change, holy CHRIST. That is so gross. ALSO - i used to do this job, and i know how filthy my hands were after 30 minutes of ringing people up. Why in HELL would you put that filth in your mouth? Yeesh.

gods, I am so so tired. Also I am so tired that I need two different VPNs just to do my job and open every fucking site or every fucking messenger (excluding government issued of course)

I really wish I could afford a house so I could get away from fucking stupid shitty inconsiderate apartment people who live upstairs and don't fucking understand the concept of other people, and that no one is obligated to be held hostage to whatever the fuck THEIR sleep schedule is. HI I'M UP SO I HAVE TO STOMP AND SLAM THINGS AND BANG INTO WALLS AND DROP HEAVY OBJECTS AND LET MY CAT HAVE ZOOMIES NONSTOP BECAUSE IT'S CUTE TEEHEE. It's fucking simple, STOP MAKING SO MUCH FUCKING NOISE IN THE BEDROOM AT ALL HOURS OF THE NIGHT. (Unless you're fucking or something, that I at least understand. And for the record, I've heard people fuck who made less noise.)

Sleep deprivation is a torture tactic, and fuck anybody who makes their inability to be quiet at night everybody else's problem.
