i'd understand people's fervent need to cling to harry potter if the series was actually any good.

but it's basic kids lit if we're being generous.

the fact that so many grown adults hold onto it like it's some god tier level of writing truly makes me belive that those same people haven't progressed past an age 11 reading/media comprehension level.

I'm not into Harry Potter at all, but people keep their comics and enjoy Spider Man movies that they liked as kids too?

I think reading is a net good and liking books is fine. I'd rather people read things they enjoy than pretend to like Ulysses because they're grown.
