I know it is the cheesiest song ever, but I still think Eternal Flame by the Bangles is the most romantic song ever. Always makes me feel sappy.

And plenty of 80s stuff was some degree of cheesy, but we loved it anyway.

I love this song too, and what's a love song without a little cheesiness? Makes me feel warm and wistful. If I ever publish a Sonelise fanmix (one of my Sonic pairings), this is definitely making it onto the list.

The flame and sun imagery, the love overcoming loneliness, and not wanting to lose said love, reminds me so much of Sonic and Elise's relationship, especially on Elise's end.

I don't think it's any cheesier than any Richard Marx put out and I think it's less cheesy than The Search is Over by Survivor and much less cheesy than Even the Nights Are Better by Air Supply, both of which I still love.
