One Piece Live Action looks fun and my peers love it. I haven't watched it, partly due fear that I will like it and then end up reading/watching the hideously drawn neverending manga/anime

One Piece manga is definitely in the realm of wanting to read the entire manga one day, even if the size is intimidating. Regrettably, this has been a goal I've had for, uhhhh, a lot of years, so I admit I've also been putting it off as much as I've been trying to attempt. (Girl Genius is the other comic on the list. Holy shit, that webcomic is BIG.)

If it makes you feel better, Oda has said that they are indeed on the final arc of the series which means it should wrap up.

Oh, yeah, I was into Western comics in the 90s so I can usually deal with fugly art okay, but there's something about the proportions in One Piece that really hurts my brain and makes me feel a little sick.

I love the live action One Piece, but I still don’t like the anime or manga. I’ve given both a shot numerous times, but I just can’t with the artwork, and the live action tones down some of the stuff the annoyed me in the manga.

I get sad when I am the only comment that doesn't get a reply.

Normally I don't care, but if everyone gets one but me? Yeah that gets to me.

Probably because I have this problem irl where I seem to be invisible or easily forgotten so it feeds into that.

if you mean on fic, OP, let me break it down for ya from the author's side.

sometimes I post and immediately forget I did, so any comments are at the whim of how I feel on a given day
sometimes I post and get so many comments I can't keep up and can't reply
sometimes I post and get zero comments so when one comes in months/years later, it's at the whim of how I feel today
sometimes I get self-conscious that replying to every comment "inflates the comment count" and stop replying
sometimes I just don't feel like replying
sometimes I don't get a notif
sometimes I can't find a response to "good fic I liked it"
sometimes I get so in my own head that my fic is bad and any comment is patronizing so I don't call attention to it
sometimes I swear I'm going to reply and next thing I know it's 2 months later

It's almost literally NEVER you. It's how the author handles comments, and can vary wildly between fics depending on how we feel about any or all of our fic.

Whenever I hear self-ship, I think about shipping characters with themselves. Ships like Master/Missy. There are just some characters who would totally be into themselves. I'm sure there is an actual name for that type of ship, but it was always self-ship in my head.

I get irrationally irritated at K-Drama adaptations outperforming Japanese source material in terms of popularity

at no point have I ever found the adaptation to be an improvement in terms of general execution
