When I first started posting fics online, I was so excited to get comments on my fics, I promised myself I would respond to every comment I received.

I learned super quick that even in a really small niche fandom, it's so hard to be that engaged with readers.
Major kudos to authors who do respond to every comment they get (especially ones that get a lot of comments!), because what's a sweet reward to revel in soon turns into a time and attention heavy side quest.
