(Anonymous) 2026-05-11 12:28 am (UTC)(link)Your loss, literally.
the "git gud" level of gaming has frustrated me for 20+ years consistently but I also moved beyond those games to find games that are fun, do not require being good at any intrinsic factor, and also justfuckmethestoryissogood I deal. I won't be able to 100% them on Platform of Choice because I won't clear 2 sub-substories that require beating one optional boss to unlock second optional boss but also the reward won't help you in the actual endgame fight so why bother? Trophy wants me to do all of that but also on Chaos mode, so also fuck trophies. It's not worth it, none of it is worth it!!!
So if you failed at playing a single level of Sonic in 1998 and gave up, and are now eternally mad at video games over it to the point of writing a secret? literally Your Loss.

(Anonymous) 2026-05-11 04:21 am (UTC)(link)life is short and there's a million billion stories and arts out there to experience. I'm going to spend my available brief time alive focusing more on the kinds of art that don't come with lots of bonus chores
godspeed to the people who enjoy video games, chase your bliss etc and then tell me the cool bits, I'm going to read a book that doesn't make me grind for however long to get to the next scene, cause I simply do not care for that part
(are there very VERY narrative-heavy games I would theoretically be interested in trying someday? yeah. do I have the kind of computing machine to play them at this time? no. maybe if AI bubble doesn't kill us all and someday I have money)
