I feel you, because same.
And I tried playing as an adult, but you are extremely so far behind in a skill set, so it's fucking boring and mildly embarrassing. For example, consoles are absolutely not as usable and simple as even casual gamers think.

+1 there are a lot of small skills that gamers pick up over time, and it's very cool, but as a non-gamer, it's frustrating to try to keep up.
