Vent thread

(Anonymous) 2026-05-13 02:03 am (UTC)(link)so naturally I had to call my GP's office to get them to change the number on the referral and send it through again
I should not have to chase up my own psych and GP why is society like this can't they communicate properly????

I put in the refill almost two months ago, but I was out of refills, and it did the thing it sometimes does with the Walgreens website where if something is out of refills, the system doesn't actually input your request for new refills. It took me a week and a half to realize it was just sitting there and not going through. So I called and got it put in.
Because I switched jobs and thus insurances, I needed a new prior authorization because the insurance requires it for this med. The new insurance tried to fight, saying I needed to try other stuff first (which I've already done). So doctor gave them the evidence that I've already done that, so prior get the new authorization. The pharmacy gets it, it takes a week to get the refill there for me to pick up.
The copay on this med is over a hundred, but there is this savings card you can put in to get it without a copay. I needed a new one of those for the new insurance. And somehow, still unclear to me, there was something wrong between that card and my refill, so they are having to redo everything all over again.
Supposedly I can pick up my med tomorrow. We'll see. I've been surviving on samples from my neurologist, but I just used the last one, and it is a pain to get there as they are a 30 minute drive from either home or work and I just can't really step out of work to get there.
This is basically the only med that can stop a migraine that is starting for me. If I get it early enough, it can either instantly end the migraine or at least, for a bad one, make it only last a day or two. Without it I've had migraines that lasted 2 weeks before. So I really need it.

(Anonymous) 2026-05-13 02:26 am (UTC)(link)I've been unemployed for 2 years now, and I've never seen anything like the current job market.
Menial labor positions not posting salaries. Requiring an application, resume, and video recording of prompted questions before you can be considered for an interview. Job postings for positions that don't actually exist, with extensive application processes designed to collect data for shareholders. Hours and hours of labor to get to a real person. For jobs that pay $12/hr.
If you have a full-time office job right now, hang on for dear life, no matter how bad it is. And constantly upgrade your skills and resume just in case. Watch your state's job posting aggregator. Check in at least weekly to see what's out there.
I used to think it was horrid to sit in an office 8-5, doing 2 hours of work a day, coming home to hours of unpaid domestic labor. I would give anything to be in that situation again.
