Because I'm getting tons of PMs and stuff about this: stuff featuring actual porn of lolicon/shota/whatever will be linked, or was supposed to be just linked, just like every other secret featuring explicit porn. But sometimes I make mistakes and a secret gets by that should have been just linked. If a secret is posted that should be linked or warned for, notify me in the name the fandom thread and I'll fix it as soon as I can.

Unfortunately, secrets about lolicon/shota will not be banned because some people think it's wrong or gross or whatever. Some people think fic about rape or gore is wrong or gross or whatever. Some people think slash is wrong or gross or whatever. I'm sure everyone agrees that actual child porn is a bad thing. Lolicon/shota is not actual child porn.

Once again, I'm sorry for letting #127 get past my radar yesterday, and will try not to let it happen again.

Allow me to explain again: I do not consider the mistake to be a small one, and just can't understand how it was made in the first place.

Besides if I ran a community and had made this mistake, people would be right to bitch and complain at me. Technophile seems to have recognised this and is taking it quite gracefully, don't you think? However, he didn't quite seem to recognise the legal side of things, and therefore I pointed it out.

Well it is a small mistake. Going through potentially 1,000 secrets and letting ONE slip through unhidden is perfectly understandable. No, they wouldn't be right to complain at you like this (and please don't use the word bitch like that). And every website doesn't have to conform to every country's laws.

It's the content that turns it from a little mistake to a big mistake. Small mistake - letting a repeat or a not-secret through. Big mistake - letting an image containing child pornography through. You see the difference, here?

He doesn't always catch the double secrets and whatever else he filters out at first either. Sometimes people point it out. Like they did with this one. And then he fixed it.

[identity profile] spudjuice.livejournal.com 2009-12-16 06:34 pm (UTC)(link)
To repeat what I just said, that counts as a little mistake. Child porn, bigger mistake. I don't know about you, but if I knew one of the images had that material in it, I would be extra-careful about handling it.

You probably can't really focus on every single pic properly when you're doing this. You should consider coming down off your mighty, perfect horse.

This.

Entitled much? Yikes, it's a wonder Technophile puts up with any of us when he's got ingrates like you whining.

Okay, seriously. Guy has to code posts for 1000 secrets a week. You want to know how easy it is to make that mistake?

Here's how it would have happened if I were the one posting the secrets. First, I'd have premade html that I could just drop the secrets into and such. Which would make it even easier to make the mistake, but also easier to make posts. Then I'd just drop links in to fill out the code. After a few, I'd just be rolling merrily along. If I got interrupted... or, heck, just in a groove... it would be very easy by the 27th one to just code it the same as everything else. I have a feeling he was probably interrupted, since he's had secrets like that later on in posts and they've been coded properly.

So really, it's a small mistake. Trust me, your local government is not going to kick down your doors and haul you off to jail because you clicked on a link to a bunch of non-loli pictures and one loli picture on a site that does not exist for the express purpose of various forms of child-centric pornography. And if they do, please tell me where you live so that I never go there, buy things from there, or in any way support their economy ever again.

And if it had been me, I would have hit the preview button before posting. Furthermore, if I knew there was an image with that content, I would have been so careful as to quadruple check it just in case. Because I'm just that paranoid and cautious.

Now, it isn't illegal in my country yet, but precedent for people being taken to court for it has been set. There is currently some controversy over the new pornography laws which will be coming into effect, because it will cover rape fantasies and adults dressed in high school uniforms. There is a fear it will result in certain harmless materials being banned.

You need a xanax or something.

Oh my god shut the fuck up you entitled douchebag. he made a mistake (whether it's a big one or small one), apologized, and said he'd do better in the future. if that's not good enough for your prissy ass, get the fuck out and start your own community so you can ~quadruple check~ to make sure nothing is posted that offends your ever so delicate sensibilities.

I think this sentence explains it all: Because I'm just that paranoid . Next time point that out first and we'll all ignore the rest of it.

Seriously, why are you even still here?

Go away and don't come back. Problem solved.
