(no subject)

Because I'm getting tons of PMs and stuff about this: stuff featuring actual porn of lolicon/shota/whatever will be linked, or was supposed to be just linked, just like every other secret featuring explicit porn. But sometimes I make mistakes and a secret gets by that should have been just linked. If a secret is posted that should be linked or warned for, notify me in the name the fandom thread and I'll fix it as soon as I can.

Unfortunately, secrets about lolicon/shota will not be banned because some people think it's wrong or gross or whatever. Some people think fic about rape or gore is wrong or gross or whatever. Some people think slash is wrong or gross or whatever. I'm sure everyone agrees that actual child porn is a bad thing. Lolicon/shota is not actual child porn.

Once again, I'm sorry for letting #127 get past my radar yesterday, and will try not to let it happen again.

NO U.

Since we're on that level now, dude.

Go give the person in the post below me some flack for it, too, then! Not just me pointing this stuff out, yo.

Major props to you for arguing your points with idiots, with such articulateness. I agree with you, and also worry about how legal censorship of fringe porn might be applied. History's shown that it's the consensual (queer + kink) stuff that gets the most attention.

Thanks, a little bit of support is awesome ♥ Although even I will admit I floundered a fair bit in my responses.

As for this lot, I wouldn't call them idiots but from my POV they have kinda been making up their own things to argue about. Now I've got my stupid internet flail switched back off, (I've been by the sea! IT WAS COLD!) stood back and recognised that, they're fine to just vent away - if they wanna think I'm squicked or triggered or omg so offended, what the hey. My thoughts on the image being posted and, therefore, "blame" on Technophile come to "well, that was stupid of you. The nature of the image should've given you a clue - be more careful next time!"

I have a wonderfully awful analogy related to wet floor signs, but I think I'll just let that go. From what I know or care, this washed over already - no matter how stupid I think something was I am not gonna hold some grudge over it.

But yeah, that stuff... pretty worrying. And the fact that, every so often, there's talk of the government wanting our ISPs to start taking responsibility for ensuring we're not downloading illegal content and monitor us, to protect the music industry or something, isn't really helping - although sane people can tell that's never gonna work, purely from the staff to user ratio.

Wet floor signs - maybe you might mean if you don't warn for a wet floor, there might be a 0.01% chance of someone slipping, hitting their head and sustaining a serious injury? If someone did come a cropper because someone forgot to put that sign there, it might be a minor innocent mistake at the time, but in retrospect, it's a *really serious* mistake. Like in my town the poor teenager who was jailed cos she texted on her phone in the car and hit and killed a pedestrian. Such a silly little mistake! Not that I'm saying this is *anywhere* near on par (oh god no!!!), but the point is that the ease or innocence in making a mistake is not as important as the consequences. Blah blah teal deer, sorry :)

Brrrrr, internet censorship... the Australian govt wants to do it hardcore (Chinese-style), and leaked lists show that some feminist, women-specific and queer sites would be blocked by the filters. :( :( :(

Not quite! More like... if you run and slip on a wet floor, I might well be sympathetic and help you up. If you run and slip on a wet floor when there was a sign telling you it was wet, I'd still help you up and all but it was pretty damn stupid of you. Your version is also pretty relevant, though.

And ack! I don't know much about Australian Internet whatsits beyond the fact loli/shota is considered to be just as serious as any child pornography to the point of including the notably unrealistic Simpsons characters (which the guy quite possibly had for the purpose of making people go "MY CHILDHOOD IS RUINED") but that right there is a scary idea.
