(Anonymous) 2026-05-30 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)Very glad she was not euthanized after a month because she's changed my life for the better, and I think she feels the same.

(Anonymous) 2026-05-30 09:58 pm (UTC)(link)This one I agree with. Sure, dogs sometimes can be trained out of aggression, but a lot of times they can't, and a dog that's aggressive in any way is a potential danger. It's better not to risk it when there are already far too many non-aggressive dogs out there that need homes.
Re: Gimme your most controversial non-fandom take
(Anonymous) 2026-05-30 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)I also extend this to cats, and I think colonies of feral cats and stray dogs should be culled entirely, not TNR'd.
I don't think it's worth spending the time or money on dangerous, unwanted, old or disabled dogs or cats. Stop making wheels for shelter dogs and cats (it's different if they're already owned and loved by someone). There are so many perfectly healthy dogs and cats that don't have leg paralysis, and aren't 'wobbly', and don't have specific positioning needs for eating or aggression issues that need homes. Stop trying to rehabilitate reactive dogs and aggressive cats.
Spay aborts should be standard.
I love animals, but we should be realistic about how many we can responsibly rehome and no-kill shelters are ridiculous.

(Anonymous) 2026-05-31 03:14 am (UTC)(link)There already aren't enough homes for healthy, well-adjusted animals that need them, why are you just making it worse?
