I hate the font for the title card of Wake Up Dead Man. I always read it as Wake Up Dead Ham.

I'm dead curious about our font-sensitive anon(s?). Like what's the origin story there? Are they a graphic designer? Just generally upset by hard-to-read fonts? Do they sit around with a bullet journal hand-lettering their ideal font? Do they spend their spare time scrolling through dafont.com and shaking their head? Do they have convulsions when they open font choice menus on word processing programs?

NGL it's kinda adorable. Unless they're coming for our secret-maker, who must be protected at all costs.

I laughed because that's how I read it too. Then I saw "A Knives Out Mystery," and that movie's brand of humor makes me think the font choice to make you misread it is entirely intentional.

There's a group of people in my fandom who are obsessed with depicting a character who in canon is what I would consider average build, but not fit, as some massively fat round guy. (The guy maybe has a bit of podgy stomach but that's really it.)

Which I wouldn't care about but they're so insistent on shaming people who depict him as his canon self as if they're doing something wrong, and complaining about people 'twinkifying' him for working from the canon visuals we're given.

Especially since there's an actual fat character that these same people completely ignore for their ships/smut despite him having shipping options. It's almost like they have a kink that they're trussing up with progressive speak or something.

I am somehow reminded of the whole 'Rodney McKay is so fat!!!!' thing back in the day in Stargate: Atlantis fandom. 'So fat it's cute!' 'So fat he has terrible self esteem!' 'So fat that omg he's stressed and is going to stop eating and become anorexic' 'So fat how could John Sheppard actually like him, omg??' 'John Sheppard likes him because he's fat' etc. Ugh.

There's been a bit of that in one of my fandoms, not quite as obnoxiously, but there's def been an increase in bizarre prose around one of the characters where he'll be describing his own, now fat apparently, body with phrases like "lush curves" "bountiful hips" and unironically falling into the 'men writing women' prose that's cringey as fuck.

I leave them to it because it's their kink, but man it is definitely coming off as a kink-thing than anything else lmao.

I'd bet money that the actual fat character is so in a way that these folks don't find 'attractive' and thus aren't interested, so they're slapping it onto someone they do find appealing.

Which sure: have the kink, but man if they're spouting progressivism over that then LOL. I'd be mean and call them out on it.

That is so obnoxious. It really bothers me when a popular fanon take ends up overwhelming the fandom, and if you DON'T go along with that same idea with your own fan stuff, people get mad about it.

I bought a pretty expensive cologne the other day just because a celebrity I really like was advertising it. It was an impulse buy; saw it at the store and grabbed it. I have never done that, ever. I am not an impulse shopper, I spend days agonizing over whether to buy a shirt or not. I’m kind of embarrassed. (Also, I am a woman, not that women can’t buy cologne, I just never have.)
