THIS. Impel Down was cool at first, but I'm sick of all the same-old same-old fighting panels (I read the manga)

And I KNOW Ace is gonna live. Or rather, I just get that impression. And while I think the guy's amazing; I think the only way the arc could redeem itself is if he died. :/

I'm bored, but invested in Luffy's rise to power, so.... Yeah. Bring back the crew! I like their snarking friendship better than all this world-wide drama.

I always used to call One Piece my "Shonen away from Shonen" manga because it seemed to be much more than fights fights fights.

And then Impel Down comes around.

I agree with the above comment, it'd only be redeemable if Ace died. But then again, no one dies in One Piece unless it's in a flashback, soooo... D:

I don't know about you, but I think I get sick of arcs if I follow them weekly. They just feel longer when you're waiting, whether you're reading the manga or watching the anime. Toei has the tendency to draw out material, too. I'm guessing they want Oda to get further ahead so they don't run out of stuff to animate.

Maybe I'm a bitch, but when I was following Water 7/Enies Lobby, my main thought was, "Oh gosh, when is this arc going to end? I want some more happy antics! CRY MOAR, ROBIN." I don't feel that way now, but that's definitely how I felt then, and there's probably some part of me that is saying, "CRY MOAR, ACE." I really come to love arcs only after they end; One Piece makes me feel impatient. I think the series is at its best when you read or watch it in chunks rather than weekly. Each major arc seems to take nearly a year to finish, after all.

I like the current arc, but it's only bursts of excitement. It helps that I am gay for Hancock and a glimpse of her is enough to make me happy. Finally seeing backstory for Ace is amazing, too.

I like the current arc a lot(because of all the awesome teamups and background stories, yay \O/), but I do agree that I wish to see the crew again - especially to find out whether Fat!Sopp and Tranny!Sanji are gonna be canon from now on XDD

I hope this arc is gonna be over soon, so that Ruffy and the others will be together again \O/

But... it's kind of part of the plot? As far as we even know so far, since the ending was... well, another headfuck, basically XD But the gist was that the religions of the world all originate from the same source, presumably whatever creatures "Minerva" was...?

And tbh as I collected the codex pages I thought they reflected Altair's growing disillusionment, and his distancing himself from the schools of thought and governing systems which, in his view (as a keeper of one of the Pieces of Eden), are not only all interlinked despite their conflicts, but which seek to force behavioural/value systems on the populace, something which he obviously would hold in distaste following his experiences with Al-Mualim and the Templars. Some of his later pages sounded outright bitter, which is understandable considering what he's experienced in his life.
