Augh. Just when I'd forgotten about that obnoxious woman and the terrible continuity fail that was that entire plot line.

I hated that woman. Everytime she smirked and said "spoilers" I wanted to punch her in the throat. IMO, the Doctor would have been perfectly justified in leaving her ass to get eaten after that obnoxious conversatin that went, "I need the Doctor", "I AM the Doctor", "Not yet, but you will be".

I thought she was so, so awful. And yeah, I ship 10/Rose, but I'm more than willing to go along with other pairings in canon due to the nature of the show. But not that one. She was petty and cruel to Miss Evangelista AND the Doctor, and she makes such a big deal of spoilers then tells him (what he takes to mean) BTW, YOU'RE GONNA MARRY ME. And maybe they don't actually marry and it's just another instance of circular time travel causation, but they certainly do have some sort of intimate relationship, and if I met someone for the first time and they acted as River acts toward the Doctor, I wouldn't be real keen to boink them later on.

And don't forget her telling that guy to keep his helmet on because he's so ugly. That was wrong on so many levels, from the sheer rudeness to the hypocrisy (hey, River, you're no Miss America yourself).

so if she knows and marries 11...

how is she so familiar with the looks and mannerisms of 10... when she would have been most likely meeting him(as 10) for the first time in that library......

Why is it hard to believe she's met Ten in other circumstances? Plenty of time between the Specials for them to cross paths earlier in her timeline.

Well there's the gap between Journey's End and The Next Doctor. Or the gap between The Next Doctor and Planet of the Dead. Or the gap between Planet of the Dead and Waters of Mars. Or the gap between Waters of Mars and The End of Time.

He's a time traveller, he doesn't necessarily experience things in the same order as the people he meets. That's a plot point, not a plot hole.

Except she's coming back in the next season with 11, and nothing about her first encounter with him suggests that she had a relationship with 11. And if she was truly his (presumptively 2nd in 900 years?) wife, it seems pretty weird that we never see any of that or any allusion to it, which we obviously won't now that 10 is dead. It's a plot hole with circular logic--he only has a relationship with her because she tells him he will--and the dialogue was written in such a way that it is very clear she knows THAT Doctor. Ten.

Did anyone ever confirm that she was The Doctor's wife?

I know it was presumed because she knew his name but I always saw it a totally different way:

If in 10's timeline, she knows his name and gains his trust that way, he *has* to tell her his name in the future in order to prevent a paradox, it doesn't mean it has to have been a marriage.

I realise I am probably in denial here. The fact that the Doctor has probably married many, many times over doesn't bother me, I just didn't find River Song to be particularly interesting.
