I really dig that movie, but not gonna lie, there were things I expected from it that he kind of bollocksed up. I didn't expect some of the things I liked most about it, though, so I guess it evens out.

and I've loved Burton pretty much all my life. I also don't mind that he reuses actors because they all work well together to tell the stories Tim wants to tell. It's the cool thing to hate on him now but watch Alice be TOTALLY AWESOME and have all the haters be all "I really ~loved him all along~!"

though being honest, in a totally unnecessary postscript, I'm excited for Alice but not as much as I should be. I just rewatched Jan Svankmajer's version and there is almost no goddamn way Burton's topping that.

I feel like most of why I like him was actually Henry Selick, but just because he is so overrated doesn't make the trendy haters any more annoying. I mean, really? Your complaint is that he reuses actors? As opposed to Judd Apatow? Jesus.

Oh, okay, I guess I do like Edward Scissorhands (even though I always get stressed out when everything starts going wrong).
