I would put up exactly what you said here. How you were planning to transition but you are now having second thoughts and you aren't sure if you ever will. I've not experienced a lot of hate directed toward people who are transitioning and then change their mind, however, I'm blessed with not having any assholes on my flist either ;)

You said you have a small number of friends online. If you created strong relationships with them, they will hopefully remember that and not judge you for it.

I agree with this. More people identify with gender things than you'd imagine, and respect that gender isn't always as easy as OH WAIT ALL ALONG I WAS A MAN. Knowing your friends are behind you will make it easier for you to decide what you want to do, if anything. If you're constantly hiding everything that's going to just eat at you and make you feel like you're carrying your problems alone.

Even if you have a number of close online friends, if you constantly have to hide things and keep up a facade with them, it'll still end up feeling like you're doing things alone. People can surprise you, OP.

I agree. If my friend told me this, I wouldn't be angry at all.

I'd appreciate that they trusted me enough to be honest about it/disclose this if they felt like doing it. I bet the secret-maker's friends would like to get to know him/her/hir in person, too.
