I always liked Kate! I like that she had the whole crime-story background where she was on the run and holding up banks and stuff. I thought that was pretty cool.

I think people dislike her mostly because they took up a whole lot of time with the love triangle that could have been spent on more interesting plots. And while I've been in the center of something like that before and I really do empathize and think it can suck in real life, the fact that it was Josh Holloway and Matthew Fox fighting for her attentions sort of made it harder to feel her pain on that front...

That's my reason. I just don't care about really drawn-out "will they won't they" type storylines when there're so much more interesting things to talk about. To make it fair, I also disliked Jack and Sawyer for the same reason (until Sawyer actually made a decision and settled down with Juliet).
